Monday, July 6, 2015, Fasilkom UI held a doctorate conferment session for Sofian Lusa. The session was held at Fasilkom UI Auditorium with a dissertation titled “Social Technical Model Penerapan Knowledge Sharing di Komunitas Digital Perusahaan” (Social-Technical Model for Implementing Knowledge Sharing in Digital Community of Company).
The research was motivated by a number of failures in the implementation of knowledge management, especially knowledge sharing in a company’s community. This is due to the low participation in the activity of sharing along with inadequate number of studies about the combination of social technical aspects. In this research, the researcher focuses on designing a model for knowledge sharing.
Using the inductive hypothetical model methodology, the researcher determined the factors in existing conditions, challenges and expectations regarding the implementation of knowledge management in the community within state-owned or private companies. The result became the basis for preparing theoretical framework that refers to literature review of knowledge management, knowledge sharing, and social technical. The creation of the social technical method was designed and tested using the SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) approach, using Smart Partial Least Squares (PLS) as a testing tool. The result of this research concluded that the successful implementation of knowledge sharing within a community depends on the image motive, advancement of virtual community, moral obligation, and learning motive. The social environment factors that encourage motivations are social identity, personal identity, and trust, while technical environment acts as a collaborative platform only.
The session was led by the dean of Fasilkom UI, Mirna Adriani, Ph.D., with Prof. Dr. Aniati Murni as promoter and Dana Indra Sensuse, Ph.D. as co-promoter. The session was also attended by Prof. Dr. Eko Indrajit, Hisar Maruli Manurung, Ph.D, Yudho Giri Sucahyo, Ph.D, Dr. A. Nizar Hidayanto and Dr. Indra Budi as the examiners. The dissertation was well-presented and succeeded to get a highly distinctive result. As the 46th graduate, a doctorate in Computer Science was then conferred to Dr. Sofian Lusa.
